Notes from the Road: West Coast Tour
In September 2025 I spent three weeks playing shows in the Western part of the United States! Coast.
I started my career with long tours around the United States, playing for fans who found my music on YouTube! I hadn’t been on a tour since 2018, but wanted to promote my new album, Fumbling and get out into the world again!
When I tour, I drive. It's the easiest and most affordable way to get around, and carry my stuff. The time is meditative for me and it's a great way to see the beauty of the world. On this trip, I drove about 4200 miles, through Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and Oklahoma.
One of my favorite parts of tour is staying at people's houses and observing how they live, unload the dishwasher, whether or not they have you take your shoes off at the door, the name of their pets, the way they collect keepsakes from their trips, the coaster in the guest room, and experience their generosity! I’m so thankful to all the folks who hosted me for a night or more, and to all the people who lent their spaces for a house concert!
Here’s a photo from the house concert in Sunnyvale, CA. It was a beautiful set up in the backyard of Jocelyn and Owen!
Tour is really fun and really hard! I travel alone and book and manage the promotion, the travel and the show schedule. It’s a lot of work, but it’s work I love to do! The hardest part is finding the balance between rest and fun. It’s always a work in progress for me!
This year has been busy with great opportunities and victories, but having this safe and successful tour is at the top of the list! I love to be reminded of the kindness and generosity of people across my divided and hurting country. I love to know I have amazing fans who will show up to support the shows, and I love to know that I'm capable of all that hard work.
You can always wee more photos and videos from the tour on my facebook and instagram accounts!
