FLORIDA!!!

I did a quick weekend trip to Florida to play two shows this past weekend, one in Dunedin near Tampa, and another in Davie near Fort Lauderdale. The weather was colder than expected, but we found a way to have a lot of fun.

My first show was a beautiful house concert in Dunedin at the home of Lynn Olsen. I spend the afternoon walking around town, enjoying the sun, and met with the Backyard Ukes group, then performed an evening house concert. It was a beautiful day of connecting with folks, playing music and sharing my stories.

I was also invited to play the South Florida Folk & Acoustic Music Club hosted at the Bergeron Rodeo Grounds in Davie, FL! The festival lineup was full of amazing talent, so I got to hear some great music and made connections with folk musicians from all over the country. Some of my favorite acts were Mad Agnes and Livingston Taylor!

Thank you to Mike Kelly and Teri Kelly, Suzie King, and Lynn Olsen who helped and hosted me in Florida. These sweeties picked me up from the airport, drove me many miles in the car, took me to lunch, put me up in their homes, lent me their spouse’s coats and heated puffer vests, camping chairs, music stands and guitars! They performed airport welcome serenades, invited me to visit with their friends and sing songs on the patio, made sure I was hydrated and happy and warm enough. They gave up a lot of their time and their space to allow me to do my thing and that is so humbling and selfless!
