I’m PROUD OF MY Award Winning SHOW!

The Magic of Grandmas is a one woman show created by and starring Danielle Anderson of Danielle Ate the Sandwich that forces a lonely grandma on an epic journey through space and time. Featuring original songs by Danielle Ate the Sandwich and videos by Forest Kinsey. This new work of mine premiered at KC Fringe in July of 2026. The run of 5 shows was amazing and help up by generous audiences who laughed, and cried, and (best of all) told me about their grandmas!

During KC Fringe, Magic of Grandmas won Best of Venue, which is an award given to the show that sells the most tickets for the shows held in that space. Magic of Grandmas was also awarded the Dalene Bradford Prize for Innovative Theater.

Dalene Bradford was a champion of the arts who deeply loved bold, imaginative work, and was a dedicated and involved supporter of Fringe, and several other arts organizations in Kansas City. The award is given to a company whose work exemplifies originality, creativity, story structure and writing quality, thematic depth and message, directing and staging, acting, technical elements and overall impact and is chosen by a committee of theatre professionals and passionate arts supporters.

This is an incredible honor and a very memorable way to celebrate the work that was put into the show and the amazing impact Grandmas have on me, and everybody! I’m thankful the selection committee could see these things in my wor, and thankful to Dalene for supporting the arts through her beautiful life and legacy, Dalene!
